The Mid-Autumn Festival, or Zhongqiu Jie (中秋节), is an important traditional Chinese festival celebrated in the middle of autumn on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. It marks the harvest season and is known for the beautiful full moon. The festival is considered the second most important holiday after the Lunar New Year, with families gathering to enjoy mooncakes and tea while admiring the moon. For those away from home, gazing at the moon serves as a way to send thoughts and love to their families, as the Chinese believe the moon symbolizes connection and longing.
