» Turkish Airlines to restart Istanbul-Phuket services
Turkish Airlines is the national flag carrier of Turkey and resumed its services on 20 November 2021, direct flights from Istanbul to Phuket. Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey and the country’s economic and cultural center. Turkish Airlines’ first scheduled flight, TK172, was an early morning take-off from Istanbul Airport and the flight touched down at Phuket International Airport at 03.40 p.m. The inaugural flight was operated by Airbus330 (A330) and was welcomed into Phuket International airport with a water canon salute. AOT Ground Aviation Services Company (AOTGA) greeted the airline by giving souvenirs upon arrival. Also, the operation of the flights from Istanbul to Phuket will benefit the overall economy and jobs, particularly the tourism industry and related businesses.
